Florian Thauvin

Florian Thauvin is delighted signing for Udinese.

The former France winger arrives on a free transfer from Mexico’s Tigres.

He said: “The first few days went very well. I wanted to thank the club and the director for having done everything possible to get me here, in one of the best championships in the world.

“I’m very happy, the club is beautiful. I was impressed by the facilities, the stadium, the pitch. I chose Udinese because I received so many calls from the club. It’s important for a player to feel the trust and when the club has a plan for him. I thank them for this trust and I want to make myself available immediately by working hard.

“I know that the club usually plays with the 3-5-2 formation, I was born as a winger on the right, but many times in Marseille I played as a second striker, able to move freely around the pitch, behind the first striker. This is my ideal position.

“Personal and team goals? First, I want to repay the club’s trust. I arrive in a team that is doing well in the championship and is seventh in the standings. I want to adapt to my teammates to soon to be available, help out and win as many games as possible.”
