Just a few years ago, Halloween in Africa was a holiday from movies. Today, it approaches cities in its own style: without scares, but with costumes, music, and parties. In Nigeria, interest in Halloween outfits grows every October. In Nairobi, costume parties draw young crowds, while Johannesburg and Cape Town have long been the continent’s biggest Halloween hotspots.
From Celtic roots in Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest season, one thing remains: a reason to get together. This year, Halloween has a powerful ally – football. October 31 falls on a Saturday, bringing Halloween together with one of autumn’s busiest football weekends.
AfroPari is celebrating the occasion with a special promo: from October 26 to November 2, get a code for a 20% deposit bonus and three Wheel of Fortune spins.
