Manchester City gets to defend their title as the Premier League champions one more time! It’s Premier League season again, and the excitement has already begun. Billions of fans worldwide are set to cheer and bet on their favorite teams to win the title. Last season was filled with surprises, and we expect even more this season. As usual, 20 teams are contesting, and we have 38 matchdays where teams face each other home and away.

The first round happened last weekend, and from the results, there’s no telling how this season is going to end. Most football predictions today wouldn’t expect Tottenham to play a 2 – 2 draw with Brentford, nor did they foresee Newcastle’s 5 – 0 win against Aston Villa. The most intriguing play of round one was that of Chelsea against Liverpool, where we saw Chelsea in renewed form and bristling energy. Although the match ended in a 1 – 1 draw, we’re excited to see what Chelsea has in store for us this season under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.

The second round is this weekend, and we have an interesting lineup of matches. Here at tips.gg, our expert analysts have taken a look at each team’s lineup, management, and past performances to give you the best football betting tips and predictions. This coming weekend, we get to see action from big teams such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, and Liverpool. There are also upcoming matches from Luton Town and Sheffield, which we think most people can already guess the outcomes. Regardless, we bring you an in-depth analysis of these upcoming games so you can know how to place your wagers!

Nottingham Forest Vs. Sheffield United

Happening on the 18th of August, this match is one of the smaller games of the weekend. It features last season’s 16th place Nottingham Forest and newly promoted since relegation Sheffield United. Although one might think Nottingham Forest gets an easy pass to win the match, Sheffield United seem to be back with renewed vigor, as observed from their round one match against Crystal Palace.

Still, Nottingham is expected to win this upcoming match against Sheffield United. We can make this prediction from their round-one game against Arsenal. Although Nottingham lost, they still scored a goal against the number 2 team of last season, resulting in a 2 – 1 loss. So, don’t keep your hopes up but expect Nottingham Forest to win by a goal or two.

Liverpool Vs. Bournemouth

In round one, Liverpool and Bournemouth played draws against Chelsea and West Ham, respectively. From both teams’ past performances in round one and past seasons, we can give this match to Liverpool to win by a considerable margin. We can see that Jurgen Klopp is back with a thirst this season, and Bournemouth stands little to no chance against the star-studded team.

Wolves Vs. Brighton

Brighton finished top seven last season, while Wolves were in the bottom seven. While we expect Wolves to come back improved, we’re pretty sure Brighton came back better too. This is evident in their 4 – 1 win against Luton Town in round one, and we can predict they’d be playing with the same mindset against Wolves. So, if you’re to bet on any team to win, your safer and more reasonable choice is to bet on Brighton. However, we’d like to expect the goal margin not to be more than two.

Fulham Vs. Brentford

Brentford finished 9th while Fulham finished tenth last season. In past clashes, Brentford has won eight games, Fulham has won six, and three have ended in a draw. In round one, we saw Brentford play a 2 – 2 draw against Tottenham and Fulham winning 1 – 0 against Everton. It’s quite a tough call, but our prediction puts Brentford to win, or the game ends in a draw.

Tottenham Vs. Manchester United

Head to head, Manchester United has more wins against Tottenham in past seasons. The margin is so wide at 40 against 10 that we can conveniently call this match in favor of Manchester United. However, we saw Tottenham’s fighting spirit against Brentford in round one, so be sure not to predict scores with wide margins for this one.

Manchester City Vs. Newcastle United

In their last 50 matches, the win rate of Manchester City against Newcastle United is over 70%. With Manchester City’s form and motivation seen in round one against Burnley, this upcoming match is going to be another win for the team. Haaland is especially a player to look out for, and you can include him in your wagers to score a goal or two.

Aston Villa Vs. Everton

From past performances, this is predicted to be an easy win for Aston Villa. Everton has not been in their best form for seasons now and might be heading for relegation. Their performance in round one against Fulham didn’t show any improvement from last season, so stake for large goal margins with this one.

West Ham Vs. Chelsea

Although last season wasn’t great for Chelsea against West Ham, the blue team has more wins in their rivalry. From what we saw in their respective matches in round one, we should expect Chelsea to steal a win against West Ham this time. For a safer bet, place a wager on the match to end in a draw.

Crystal Palace Vs. Arsenal

This is most definitely an easy win for Arsenal with their brilliant form since last season. The last time both teams met, it ended in a 4 – 1 win in favor of Arsenal, and we expect something similar to happen in this coming round.

Conclusion

These predictions are made based on the team’s past rivalry, their most recent form, and most of what we’ve observed so far in round one. While our analyses are technical and have proven accurate over the years, we expect you to do your research too, and make the best decisions for yourself. We’ll see you in the third-round predictions!
